  Wow amazingly big library , get free plastic card after showing your passport amd you can enter anytime with it ,free internet, nice environment, there is cafeteria also .

  Would have loved to go inside but passing by outside was still impressive. Some stories on the history of this building from a local were more than fascinating.

  Incredible historical building, a great place to visit or do some work on a rainy day in Moscow. Anybody (Russian or foreigner) can apply for a library card here, and spend time inside or even borrow books. Fantastic views of the Kremlin from the upper floors. You will really feel that epic Soviet feeling when you spend an afternoon/evening here and look outside the big windows.

  The building is not so impressive from the outside, thou with the statue you may get a good photo to show. You may visit the inside, even if you don't have a pass, just ask for a visitor badge - and don't forget to return the badge as you walk out. They are too shy to call out to you in English, and you will not hear them asking for it until the third person asks :)
